About Daniel Carolan

Daniel Carolan is a filmmaker and photographer. He was born and raised in Hong Kong and has worked in New York City for 3 Generations, a human rights documentary production company, and JV8INC, a film casting company that specializes in street casting. He worked on the upcoming Safdie Brothers project (Netflix) and The Sympathizer (HBO).

He graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2022 with a BFA degree in Film & Television and has had his photos featured in several print and digital magazines. In the beginning of 2022, he started a year-long project to document the faces and people on the streets of New York City.

In 2023, he self published the photography book, ‘You’re Beautiful & Loved’, encapsulating his year-long commitment to street photography. He is currently working on a number of new film projects and continues his work with photography.

In 2024, he co-directed a feature length documentary, SPRINGFIELD, USA which premiered at the 3rd Annual Film Diary Festival in New York City. The film will officially be released later this year.
